Harmony House Cafe is not a coffee house!
We are just a group of people that love a good cup of coffee, not only because it is so tasty, but also because drinking coffee often leads to introspective thought. Introspective thoughts usually lead to conversation. Finally, it is thoughtful conversations that can lead to a diverse and caring community. Harmony House Cafe desires to serve as a hub for those conversations by hosting social events and fun enrichment courses to the public. Our intention is to serve our neighborhood and the City of Toledo. Join us for a FREE cup of coffee and conversion as we create the change that we want to see in the world.

Dr. Janel Tate, DBA, MBA
I am a proud, home grown resident of “Mud City” Toledo, OH! I love my little city! I believe that we have some awesome gems hidden in the northwest corner of Ohio. Among those gems are our residents, especially our youth. My love for my city has pushed me to create opportunities for others to fall in love with it too.
So, a little about me…
My motto is that life should be lived BIG, with passion and excitement. My desire to live an AWESOME life has led me to many life-changing experiences and adventures. This desire for a life of adventure and to pave my own path resulted in my leaving home at 19 to join the United States Navy. After serving almost 10 years, I separated from the Navy with an honorable discharge in order to attend graduate school on a full-time basis. I have completed my bachelors with a degree in Criminal Justice, a Masters of Business Administration specializing in Human Resources Management and a Doctorate of Business Administration specializing in marketing. I am a Contracting Officer for the United States Federal Government. It is my dream job. It has allowed me to transfer my patriotic love for my country from military service to federal service all while utilizing my business skillsets and very expensive education. It also has allowed for much independence and adventure for my gypsy soul. While being employed with the federal government, I have worked in Chicago, IL, Washington, DC, Bethesda, MD, and Bismarck, ND. More recently, I have been able to move to my hometown in Ohio and I am employed as a contract business adviser assisting U.S. military veterans. I love my job because it allows me to do what I am passionate about doing which is business development and providing services to veterans.
Lastly, I am a Business Consultant and Marketing Strategist for small businesses. I am a strong advocate for helping individuals start and grow their own microbusiness in order to pursue personal happiness and additional streams of income. My professional interest focuses on teaching individuals with a meager marketing budget and little to no followers the process of developing a personal brand that is appealing to their target market. I am PASSIONATE ABOUT HELPING SMALL BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS. I want people to feel as though they have fulfilled their purpose in this life.
Last little thing about me…While I have assisted a vast number of clients in their efforts to start their own business, I especially love helping small churches fulfill their biblical mandate of evangelism by being the “hands and feet of Christ”. If you know any churches or nonprofit organization that need assistance with marketing, grant writing or business planning please feel free to share my blog and social media posts with them!

Melody A. Smith CEO, BCCC, CCSC
In a world where racism, division, and moral uncertainties are eroding the fabrics of society, Melody, steps forward with message of hope, carried on a fiery-winged vocal and musical vehicle that is beginning to take Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and song, by storm giving God all Glory and Honor that is due unto his name!
Melody is a Toledo, Ohio native. She has been trained and equip for her walk God thru the teaching, guidance and prayers of her Parents, Bishop James and First Lady Ella R. Sherman of the Trinity West Diocese, Churches of the Living God. She has two older siblings-Pastor Eric Sherman (Victory Life Worship Center) and Pastor James Sherman (New Covenant Church of the Living God).
She is the founder and host of The International Believer’s Bible Cafe located in Toledo, Ohio. Melody is also the CEO and owner of DreamSquad Financial Solutions, LLC, offering credit restoration and financial educational classes to consumers across the US.
Melody affectionately known as “Mel” is an ordained Elder and the former Minister of Music of the New Covenant Church (served as musician and Minster of Music for 20 years).Within the past 34 years She has served in many capacities: Some offices and duties include that of Director/Pastor of Minister/Worship, Recording, Song writer, producer, Assistant Minister of Music, Assistant Church Administrator, Preacher, Bible Class Teacher and many other areas of the body of Christ, in churches across the midwest, southern and southeast regions of the US.
She earned an Associate’s Degree in Pastoral Theology in August of 2006 from the Master’s Divinity School of Theology.
Melody is currently working on her official Freshman solo project entitled “I Win”. The single will be released worldwide, summer 2018.
Melody shares a wonderful life of Love and Marriage a devoted wife with her “Best Friend” Minister Tyree D. Smith. She has 4 beautiful children: Camille, Xavier, Courtney Devon II and Myles.
Mel has proven to be a kind, gentle, humble, faithful, saved Holy Ghost filled servant who loves the Lord with all of her heart, soul and mind. She is a friend, Sister, and a Woman of God who loves people and ministry! Just call her “Melody”! It is a name that truly describes this Awesome servant of our Most High!
